I did some googling and Expedia reading and learned that the first wolf in California after 90 years came here from Oregon in 2011. I could not find any recent statistics on wolf population in California, just some mentions that the OR-7 wolf had reproduced. <br />So what other animal could this be? It was not a dog, I'm absolutely sure of that. It was a wild animal by its behavior. It was larger than any coyote I have ever seen and it was primarily gray and white with some rusty colored fur mixed in. I had seen American foxes before and this was not a fox. <br />And when this animal ran into the woods, it howled and it was a bone chilling sound.
